3 Ways to Retrieve Password for Wifi on Mac OSX

You need your Keychain access password.

To reveal the password for wifi network:

  1. Go to System Preferences >> Network
  2. Click on the network you want to expose
  3. Click “Advanced”
  4. Tick the “Show password” checkbox

If the “show password” checkbox is grey-ed out:

  1. Go to Applications >> Utilities >> Keychain Access
  2. Click on “System” in the left window pane
  3. Double click on the wifi network name you want to expose
  4. Click “Show password”
  5. Enter your Keychain password and Allow

If the “Show password” checkbox is still grey-ed out on this screen:

  1. Go to Applications >> Utilities >> Keychain Access
  2. Click on “System” in the left window pane
  3. Right-click on the wifi network name and select “Copy Password to Clipboard”
  4. Enter your Keychain password and Allow
  5. Paste the password in any place that you can and the password will show up without asteriks.

Set up a fully automated media centre

  1. Sign up for a usenet/newsgroups account. (Giganews, Astraweb etc)
  2. Sign up for a NZB website (Nzbmatrix.com is good)
  3. Download and Install Sabnzbd: http://sabnzbd.org/
  4. Download and Install SickBeard: http://code.google.com/p/sickbeard/ (For help, see http://code.google.com/p/sickbeard/wiki/HowToUseSickBeard )

The general idea:

  • Sabnzbd and Sickbeard are both installed as HTTP servers and run in the background.
  • Enter tv shows into sickbeard.
  • Sickbeard then polls your NZB website for new episodes based on episode release dates.
  • When new episodes are available, sickbeard tells Sabnzbd to download these episodes.
